Gelato for a good cause

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, the STEM Administration Team wanted to provide our community with the opportunity to take advantage of a sweet treat before the Thanksgiving Break. On Wednesday, Nov. 16, the HipPOPs gelato ice cream truck was on campus for students, families and staff to take advantage of their gelato ice cream selection.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated back to STEM to be used for Staff-Related Events during the School Year. (example: Cart of Happiness, Staff Holiday Party, Staff Appreciation Gifts, etc.)

Guest speaker visits with STEM students to teach about psychology and product research

Our special thanks to guest speaker Mariann Lowery, who spent time presenting to Mr. Kerwin’s social studies class, talking about how psychology is involved in product research.
Mariann is a product research lead for a software development company. Her presentation helped educate the class and stir imaginations about what is involved in product design and implementation.

An impressive showing from STEM students at DECA Districts

Impressive results from STEM students at DECA! Here’s the description of the DECA District results from STEM Business Teacher Allison Doe:
First off, we made the commitment to give back to our community. STEM DECA raised $174 for the Ember Alliance to support families impacted by the Marshall fires.
Secondly, we donated over 40lbs of food for the Food Bank of the Rockies.
Third, we have the largest membership numbers STEM has ever had for FBLA and DECA!
We brought our top 65% of our chapter to compete at Districts.
Our results are: STEM has 10 State Qualifiers, 3 top test scores and will take our largest number yet to the State competition of 14 members. STEM was up against 575+ other district competitors yesterday.
Please congratulate them all for their commitment to leadership and personal professional development.
